Facilities available at RINPAS

OPD services: we have increased the sitting capacity for patients attending OPD by making separate enclosures for male and female patients. OPD attendance of patients has increased more than 4000 as compared to 2007-2008. A total 51647 psychiatric patients attended OPD in the year 2008-2009.

Indoor facilities: we are ensuring quality assurance in care of indoor patients by providing clean surroundings, hygienic toilets, nutritious diet, recreational facilities and vocational training. A total of 1777 cases were admitted during 2008-2009 and 1605 patients were discharged from the institute.

Basic Amenities for the Patients

Rehabilitation Unit: In the male section file, soap and detergent powder making units and in the female section agarbati, shawl & knitting of sweaters have been added in the year under review.

Yoga and Meditation: The institute has added Yoga and Meditation facilities both in male and female section.

Biomedical Waste Management: We have given contract to Envision Surat for collection and disposal of Biomedical Waste in our incinerator. 61 hospitals/private nursing homes in and around Ranchi are availing this facility at RINPAS.

Tests and equipments available in Clinical Psychology Lab, RINPAS

Computerisation: A total of 2 server, 31 PCs, 20 printers  have been procured and connected with LAN. Broad band facility is available in the Central library.

Library: More than 700 reference books have been added in the year 2008-2009. Library automation is under progress.

Training & Research: At present RINPAS is imparting M.Phil & Ph.D in Clinical Psychology and Psychiatric Social Work which is affiliated to Ranchi University. MD and DPM course has also been started since 2007. Fourteen research projects have been completed in 2008 and 42 papers have been published in various journals. Training programme ranging from one week to two months in Clinical Psychology, Psychiatric Social Work, Yoga and Meditation, Psychiatric Nursing have been conducted for students from various Universities of our country. The Dept. of Clinical Psychology has been recognized as Centre of Excellence for HIV counseling training by National AIDS Control Organization, Govt. of India. More than 300 HIV Counsellors from different states  have been provided HIV Counselling training 2008-2009.

Community outreach programme: RINPAS has made tremendous progress in community outreach programme where more than 28,000 patients received consultation and free medicines in 2008-2009 in the Satellite Clinics held at Hazaribagh, Khunti, Jonha and Saraikela.
